as355f2 refurbishment

The recently purchased twin-engine Squirrel is currently undergoing a repaint and refurbishment.

It is planned to have this completed and the aircraft operational in time for the Rugby World Cup.

This is a twin-engine helicopter, which retains a very similar appearance both inside and out as our other (AS-350 series) aircraft, with the same seating configuration.  This aircraft is primarily used for passenger transport, aerial photography and search and rescue operations.

as355f2 refurbishment 2We normally have this aircraft configured for carrying passengers and equipment, with the standard fit being one pilot and up to six passengers with the optional dual front seat installed, or with the added safety of two pilots there is seating for up to four passengers.  In both configurations there is still plenty of room for luggage or equipment, which may be required for the trip or on site work.

The twin-engine allows the aircraft to meet CAA Performance Class One requirements and as such can operate into and out of built up areas and perform inter-hospital transports and offshore search and rescue operations.
